US
Claire Kavaya is a french artist and art teacher who has been teaching art in Paris for 16 years.
Passionate about figurative drawing and painting since she was 12 years old, she studied painting at the University of Fine Arts of Paris (Beaux-Arts de Paris) where her work was very much influenced by american painters (Georgia O'Keeffe, Edward Hopper, Eric Fischl...)
While giving live figure drawing class in prep school to teenagers who wanted to become professionals in the art world, she began teaching to adults in a studio and decided to pursue full time in that direction for 10 years.
After meeting her husband, who was born and raised in San Clemente, she fell in love with Southern California and decided to continue teaching in a spacious studio where everyone can feel comfortable and experience figurative drawing and painting.
